What you can do on this page
If you've been given Transact rights to a savings bond, you may redeem all or part of the security. This page provides you with a list of all securities eligible for redemption for which you, as a grantee, have been given Transact rights. Securities are listed in alphabetical order by the last name of the grantor who has given you rights. For quick reference, the date the redemption is to be processed is shown at the top of the screen.
Primary Actions
- Select a radio button for a security and click "Submit" to go to ManageDirect > Redemption Request.
- Click "Cancel" to return to the previous page.

What you can do on this page:
This list allows you to select issued savings bonds to give View or Transact rights to another TreasuryDirect account holder. Rights are granted based upon the security's current registration type. Only View rights may be given to Beneficiary and Sole Owner registration types. However, you may grant View or Transact rights to Primary Owner registration types. Transact rights allow the second-named registrant to perform a partial or full redemption of a security.
Primary Actions
- Choose a radio button for a security and click "Select" to go to either:
- (Beneficiary registration) ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Detail, or
- (Sole Owner or Primary Owner registration) ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Detail.
- Click "Cancel" to return to ManageDirect > Assign Rights.

What you can do on this page:
If you've selected a savings bond with a Beneficiary form of registration, this page displays to show you additional security details. Only View rights may be given to a Beneficiary. If you haven't assigned View rights to a security, "None" will appear under the Rights column and the Grantee column will be blank.

- Click "Add" to go to ManageDirect > Add Rights.
- Click "Delete" to go to ManageDirect > Delete Rights.
- Click "Return" to go back to ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Summary.

What you can do on this page:
If you've selected a savings bond with a Sole Owner or Primary Owner registration, you will go to this page showing you additional security details. Only View rights may be granted to another TreasuryDirect account holder for a Sole Owner registration type. View or Transact rights may be granted to the second-named registrant for a Primary Owner registration type. Transact rights allow the second-named registrant to perform a partial or full redemption of a security. If you haven't assigned rights to the security, "None" will appear under the Rights column and the grantee column will be blank.
HELPFUL HINT
If you grant Transact rights to a second-named registrant (grantee), you are responsible for the tax liability, even if the grantee redeems the security.

- Click "Edit" to go to either:
- (Sole Owner registration) ManageDirect > Edit Rights, or

- (Primary Owner registration) ManageDirect > Delete Rights.
- Click "Return" to go back to ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Summary.

What you can do on this page:
The Add Rights page displays details about a security and allows you to grant View rights to the Beneficiary. Details about the security and grantee information are available, including the grantee's name and Taxpayer Identification Number, which are based upon the current registration of the security. The customer must enter the grantee's TreasuryDirect account number to grant View rights.
Primary Actions
- Click "Submit" to go to ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Summary. You, as the grantor, will see a message at the top of this page confirming View rights have been granted. The grantee will be sent an e-mail stating View rights were granted by you.
- Click "Cancel" to go to ManageDirect > Assign Rights > Detail.

What you can do on this page:
The Add Rights page displays details about a security and allows you to grant View rights to the Beneficiary.
